Proper Way, founded by First Nations social worker and researcher Stan Lenoy—a PhD candidate at Central Queensland University with an Honours Bachelor of Social Work from James Cook University, whose thesis explores Indigenous men's participatory experiences in men's groups to identify facilitators and barriers to engagement—offers a culturally responsive 14-week intervention program to address domestic and family violence and intimate partner violence perpetrated by Australian Indigenous men. By blending traditional Indigenous mindfulness practices with culturally tailored approaches, Proper Way guides men toward self-discovery, accountability, and healthier relationships. This transformative journey empowers participants to manage stress, reconnect with their cultural identity, and contribute to community healing.
